I started painting over thirty years ago.  I live, paint and exhibit in New York City where I have been living for over 10 years.  My inspiration often comes from the daily living as a survivor of severe early abuse.  During my recovery art and writing were key to my very survival.   Now, years later as a mother and grandmother and wife when I look back and read some of my early poems it amazes me the strength I summoned. Now, I make my living as an abstract painter and have had several solo shows and many group exhibitions.  I am a member of the National Association of Women Artists and several other artists’ organizations.  But for the purposes of this site (which is to encourage others to overcome their past) I use my pseudonym, Belle to avoid offending anyone from my past.
